Today, I’m reviewing a concealer from the brand Emani Vegan Cosmetics. I’m talking about the HD Corrective Concealer! I also have something exciting that I am sharing at the end of the blogpost, so stay tuned!
A couple of weeks ago, I went to the Beauty Trade Festival in Utrecht because I was invited by Emani. They explained me everything about the brand, one of the girls did my make-up and I got* some products to try out for my blog. One of these products is this concealer. I am extremely enthusiast about this concealer, that’s why I’m making a blogpost about it!
* I got this product from Emani for free. I did not get paid for this blogpost and all my opinions are my own!
This is how the concealer looks like:
The packaging of the concealer is very clean and solid. It has a matt black cover with EMANI and their logo written on it in silver letters. It has also a little mirror inside of the pan, as big as the pan itself. ( I didn’t make a picture of that because they didn’t turn out well!) I love it when make-upproducts come with little mirrors, so I can always take it with me on-the-go!
The smell of the concealer is kind of normal actually. Nothing weird!
HD Corrective Concealer. Infused with botanical brightener that works to visibly brighten skin and soft focus pigments to deflect light to minimize the appearance of blemishes and fine lines. This super-emollient, highly pigmented formula instantly covers dark circles, broken capillaries, sun damage, blemishes and skin imperfections.
The ingredients of the concealer are all natural and vegan. There are lots of oils in the concealer and there is 2% Vitamin C in the concealer, which helps to brightens and improves your skin as well. For a full list of the ingredients you can go to their website.
The concealer is vegan, made in the USA, Toxin Free, recycled, organic, cruelty free and it is durable for 24 months after you opened it!
I tested this concealer out for a week before I wrote this blogpost. So I have made an opinion about this product. I will start with a swatch of the concealer!
On the left picture you see a swatch of the product. On the right picture I swiped it a bit out, so you can see how many coverage it has. What I already love about the right picture, is that it isn’t an ‘extra layer’ on the skin, it really soaks in to your skin so you don’t even see the concealer that well anymore! The concealer looks a bit lighter than my hand. That’s because my face has a lighter tine than my hand AND a concealer needs to be a little bit lighter than your skintone. So it will give you a brightening effect as well!
Here is how it looks like on my face.
Left picture: nothing on my skin, right picture: covered my pimples and dark circles with the concealer.
I already think that my skin looks a lot fresher and brighter, right?
Left picture: foundation on my skin + a little extra concealer on my dark circles, right picture: completed make-up look!
I really really love the finish the concealer has. As I mentioned before, it doesn’t look like an ‘extra layer’ on the skin but it does have the coverage I need! What do you think of the end result? You definitely see a difference, right?
Oh, I also wanted to share this quick tip if you want to have your brows on fleek!
Add a little concealer under and above the tale of your brow with a little flat brush. It will give you a really strong and sharp look and it also removes any mistakes you made! (you can also do this with your lipstick or eyeliner!)
In my opinion, the best way to use this concealer is with your fingers. Because of the warmth of your fingers, the concealer will melt down a little extra before applying it on your skin. I also like to apply it under my foundation so you can really see which imperfections need a little extra help!
One extra thing I found out while using this concealer; it helps reducing pimples a little bit. When I put this on a pimple, at the end of the day, the pimple is a lot less red from itself!
Overall, I really like this concealer. It has everything a concealer needs in my opinion! It has great coverage, it doesn’t look like an ‘extra layer’ on the skin and it even helps reducing my pimples! I also love it that the concealer is totally vegan and cruelty free. I had never tried it before, and I didn’t even heard a lot of it, but I really really like it that they are doing this! I hope a lot of other brand will follow, because I think it is really important!
I already told you I wanted to share an exciting thing at the end! I’ve teamed up with Emani for a giveaway on instagram. It is BENELUX ONLY so if you are from Belgium, The Netherlands or Luxembourg, go check out my instagram NOW!
I hope you liked this blogpost! See you next time.
Much love, Anne ♥
