Hello everyone! First of all, HAPPY NEW YEAR! Eventhough it’s already 2019, I thought it would be nice to do a little throwback to the memories I made in 2018. 2018 was actually a good year for me! I accomplished some stuff, made some new friends and went on a lot of trips! I will show you some of the highlights of 2018.
I already said that I went on a lot of trips to different cities. Eventhough I life quite far away from Amsterdam, I’ve probably visited the city over 10 times in 2018. The picture above was with a friend from uni, it was a very nice day back then. The weather was nice, we had some good food and it was fun seeing her again. I also saw a lot of other cities in 2018. I went to Rotterdam, The Hague, Utrecht, Vlissingen, Muenster, Duesseldorf, and the list goes on and on. I’m not even talking about the cities I went to for longer than 1 day! That will come up next. Anyway, I love Amsterdam and I will be visiting the city soon again, this weekend actually already!
Probably my biggest highlight of the year was my trip to Berlin. (read all about it here) I went to a school to learn the German language amongst a lot of other international students. I did it with Education First and it was in July. It was such a great experience because I never went somewhere all by myself. I made a lot of new friends from all over the world there, whom I’m still in contact with until now. It was super cool to live in such a huge city for 3 weeks and it also gave me some perspective on what I want to do in the future!
I also went on a summer holiday with my parents and my sister. My sister went to Paris first for a couple of days and then we traveled by train to the south of France, Nice to be exactly. Nice is such a beautiful place at the french coast and it was just so hot! We also did some day trips to Monaco and Saint Tropez. Monte Carlo was maybe one of the nicest cities I’ve ever seen. It’s so surreal! Definitely recommend you to go there once!
I went skiing in December. I go skiing in Austria almost every year with my parents and it’s such a magical time. I love the vibe in Austria, the food, the weather, the snow and just getting out of the house during the busy December-periode. We were especially lucky this year, since the sun was shining almost every day!
In may, I got my Propedeuse diploma! I think I’ve mentioned it before (only for the long-time followers), but I didn’t get my propedeuse in the first year of my study. I just couldn’t pass one class of my first year, and I had to do it again in my second year. It just gave me so much stress all year long, so when I finally passed that test, and I got my propedeuse, I was literally so excited. It was a huge relieve to pass that stupid class and to move on.
I started my first internship in September, and I’m still an intern today. As a part of my study, I have to do an internship for 1 semester. I choose to do it at an accountancy office and I was super nervous the day I started. It is my first ‘real’ experience, working at a ‘real’ business and it is hard. I work 40 hours a week, which is very different from the 3-day schoolweek I was used to. I do like it a lot, I’ve learned so much during the past couple of weeks and I think (and hope) I will get good feedback from my supervisor from the company! (I’m almost done)
I had some cool blogging milestones. So those of you that are following me for a while now, know that I’ve always been struggling balancing social media & my blog with my social life and school life. Ever when I started the internship, it got even harder to be active online. I hope I can be more active again once I finish the internship. Anyway, that’s not what I wanted to talk about. I did some cool things for my blog again this year! I had a collaboration with Emani & Dr Spiller and got to go to the Beauty Trade festival in Utrecht. I also became a Weleda Ambassador in September, something I still can’t believe I’m asked for! I even went to my first PR event in December. Such great accomplishments and I hope I can have some cool collaborations and make some cool blogging memories in 2019 again.
So my 2018 sounds all exciting, right? I can’t wait for 2019! I have some crazy things planned and I might even go abroad for the last half of 2019. Nothing is confirmed yet but I hope it’s possible. Anyway, I’d love to hear about your 2018, your 2019 plans and I’d also love to hear some memories I might have made with you in 2018. Let it all know down below or via my Instagram DM. Thank you all for following me during 2018, I can’t wait to share my best moments of 2019 with you again!
