Today I’m back with the ‘Quick Review’-series in which I’m doing little reviews of popular, but budget products. Today’s turn is the dupe of the famous Tarte Shape Tape concealer, the Revolution Conceal & Define Full Coverage Conceal and Contour. Wow, that is a long name, haha. Anyway, I know I’m not very early with this one, but I just had to share this with you. If this one works well, we may have found a great and cheap concealer!
I already mentioned that this concealer is a dupe of the Tarte Shape Tape concealers. It’s by the budget-friendly brand Makeup Revolution London (short: Revolution). The brand is known for their make-up dupes of highend brands like Anastasia Beverly Hills, Kat von D beauty, Too Faced and Kylie Cosmetics. I haven’t tried any other products of Revolution yet, but it’s a budget-friendly brand, so you almost can’t go wrong with them. I also haven’t tried the Tarte Shape Tape concealer, so I can’t compare the two. I will only test if it’s a great concealer or not.
The price of the concealer varies between €5 and €10, depending on where you buy it. I bought them for €5 at our local drugstore. One concealer contains 3.4 ml of product. The concealer is available in 25 colors. I have to say that there are lots of lighter colors, but they do have a couple of dark-very dark colors, so no matter what skincolor you have, you can find a concealer that fits you. I got the colors C1 and C3.
C1 has a more neutral to yellow undertone and C3 has a cool to pink undertone. You can also see the swatches on my arm on the left picture. C1 is on the left and C3 is on the right. The concealer has a lot of coverage. It’s quite thick, so you have to be careful that you don’t put too much at once on your skin! The brush of the concealer is very thick as well, which is very handy, but can also cause that you put way too much on your skin. So be careful when you apply it for the first time!
That’s what the brush looks like. I think it’s very handy that the brush is that big, but it totally depends on your preference. The brush does make it harder to scoop all the product out of the little bottle. So there will always be some product left, but you can break the bottle or scoop some product out with something else!
My overall opinion is very good of the product. It’s coverage is really good, but you have to watch out the first time you apply this concealer. The concealer dries down very quickly, so don’t wait too long to blend it out. I also make sure to set it with powder very well, so it won’t crease. If you’re looking for a concealer with high coverage, that is not too expensive, this one might be great for you!
